It’s not so bad living on a budget when your work events take you out for twilight racing on Sydney Harbour. The perks of the job. It also makes me appreciate all we’ve done to stay in this beautiful city and how hard we have worked. There have been days and weeks where we struggled with visa applications and weren’t able to make plans as we didn’t know how long we would be able to stay in Sydney for. Going on over five years later and we are still here. A world away from where we started. It just goes to show how much you can accomplish when you stick to something, work hard and stay positive.
I have been trying to not go out as much lately and work on my cooking skills. However it is definitely a nice break to head out on the water and get some exciting and different experiences with your work colleagues. I’ve never had to scramble across the cabin of a boat to help ‘tack’ or have my feet dipped into Sydney Harbour. We were so close to winning….if only one of the crew members didn’t go overboard!
This may have turned out to be a very expensive event as now I want to get into sailing. Maybe it will have be go on the treat list.
Are there any must have things to do in Sydney you would recommend? I feel like there is still so much to explore!
